The EMC website has been a Flash site for the past 4 years. Today, it is no longer a Flash site. It is a responsive website optimized for desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.

It’s pretty exciting to know that the web industry started providing solutions to web designs that are fluid and flexible for the crazy world of device resolutions (desktop, tablets, mobile).  In simple terms this is called responsive design.

In days of old, one would have to create a mobile site, desktop site, tablet site etc..  Today, we design templates that flex based on which device they appear on.  Of course its not just a flick of the switch – not quite that simple.  We plan and test for a range of devices and resolutions to ensure our templates and content are targeted and scaled to meet the demands of each.  On the bright side, a little planning goes a long way!!

Flash content has been kicked to the curb for corporate websites, since iPads can’t display it. Flash is still a great tool when used for the right purpose, such as interactive presentations and point of sales kiosks, but no longer for typical websites.  Clients and industry professionals are requesting/requiring the flexibility to develop a single source site that flexes to fit or adjust not only mechanically, but delivering the pertinent content as needed for the device accessing the content. If you are in the same position, let us know. We can help.

Don’t get me started on Social Media!!!  Yet.  That will be coming soon.
